The enchanted, mystical world of the Harz mountains is best explored on the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg. The path takes hikers through green forests, rocky gorges and medieval towns with half-timbered houses, and brings them face to face with the 1,000 year-old mining history at every turn.

Insider-Tip

On the Harz Mountainser-Hexen-Stieg, you will stumble upon art installations in places where you least expect them; so-called experience islands draw your attention to unique features at the respective location that are not or no longer plain to see. Examples include a female peddler taking a rest on the trail or giant ants inviting you to put your feet up.
