The 1,000-year-old town of Goslar is an exciting destination for your city trip as it is nestled in glorious natural surroundings on the slopes of the Harz  mountains. Its special historic flair and cultural treasures attract visitors from far and wide to the Imperial City.

Impressive tourist attractions, churches and museums are a special experience for all, not just culture lovers. Goslar is also the perfect place for those who just want to chill out on holiday. The unique atmosphere of the narrow medieval alleyways or the busy market square with its cafés makes them ideal places for an indulgent stroll.

The Rammelsberg Mine and the Old Town of Goslar were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992: an impressive label that has transformed this memorial to mining and the history of the town of Goslar into one of Germany’s most precious cultural assets. The Upper Harz Mountains water management system, the world’s largest and most important network of dams and ditches, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in August 2010. The Rammelsberg Mine can now be toured as a museum and visitor mine.

Lively events and delicious culinary offerings ensure that both day trippers and tourists in Goslar feel particularly welcome – there is certainly something for every taste here. The attractive shops in the historic Old Town are also a tempting invitation for an extraordinary shopping tour.
