Harz Mountains

The Harz Mountains - rugged mountains, protected animals and plants - a natural paradise. Did you know that already 30 years ago large parts of the Harz were protected as a national park? So today, with a little luck, we can see black storks, wild cats or lynxes in the wild. Especially the reintroduction of the lynx is a great success story.

Are you looking for a short vacation?

Thanks to the well-signposted network of hiking trails with a length of more than 8,000 kilometers in various degrees of difficulty, you can experience the breathtaking landscape of the low mountain range up close. You have the choice: do you prefer a short walk in nature of a few hours or a backpacking tour of several days? On vacation in the Harz Mountains, all options are open to you.

The Harz from above

Are you looking forward to the next adrenaline kick? Climb the 65 metre high Harzturm Tower and enjoy the unique view. Or how about a mountain bike tour on the trails of the Harz? Numerous hiking trails are waiting to be explored by you. And if you want to see everything from above, you don't have to climb the highest peaks on foot - it's just as nice to float over the treetops in a cable car. Enjoy the unobstructed view of the beautiful Harz landscape.
