Melkhus


Melkhus ("House of milk") - these are unique dairy restaurants in the countryside. From April to September, fresh dairy products are offered here directly from the farm. Enjoy curd cheese, yoghurt and cheese in the tranquil natural surroundings and be enchanted by the authenticity of country life. From spring to autumn, the popular Melkhus farms are ideal stopovers, not only for cyclists and hikers. Most of the Melkhus can be found in the coastal region and around Oldenburg.

Pumkin farms


In autumn, the pumpkin farms are transformed into a vibrant sea of colour. These farms offer a wonderful opportunity to discover the variety of pumpkins - from large, orange giants to small, decorative pumpkins in every imaginable colour. Visitors can not only buy pumpkins here, but also take part in creative activities such as the popular pumpkin carving. You can also savour delicious pumpkin dishes, such as pumpkin soup and pumpkin bread, which are typical of the region. The pumpkin farms in Niedersachsen are therefore an ideal destination to enjoy the autumnal atmosphere. Selected pumpkin farms are Kürbishof Sprengel, Kürbismeister and Spargel & Kürbis Scheune.

Farm cafés


Experience rural charm and enjoy homemade cakes and regional specialities in a cosy atmosphere. The farm cafés offer a perfect break from everyday life and invite you to linger over freshly brewed coffee. Farm cafés can be visited in many places in Niedersachsen. If you love apples and cherries, you should take a look at the region between Stade and Buxtehude. Here you will not only find the largest contiguous fruit-growing area in Northern Europe, the ‘Altes Land’, but also great farm cafés where fruit plays the leading role.
