The Kästeklippentour, named a premium route in 2014 by the German Hiking Institute, will lead you past the eponymous cliffs and the so-called “Old Man of the Mountain”, which is also the symbol depicted on the signposts. The rock formations that you can admire along the way are a particularly unique feature.

Arrival and departure

When arriving by car, we recommend using the car park belonging to the racetrack's sports park. You can also reach Göttingerode by bus.

The Kästeklippentour is not an established winter hiking trail! Another aspect to bear in mind is the predominantly slippery descent along the Schlackentalbach.
