Quality cycling

Who better to say what cycling tourists want from their travels than the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club e.V. (ADFC - German Cycling Association)? The ADFC therefore developed and verified the ADFC quality cycling routes and ADFC RadReiseRegionen (cycle touring regions) at the request of route operators and destinations, and put the bike trails to the acid test. In doing so, trained bike route inspectors considered the condition of the local bike trails, the road safety, signage, route guidance and many other aspects. A maximum of five stars is available for a long-distance cycle trail or as an overall region offering day tours.

In Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony), the Weser-Radweg (Weser Cycle Route) and Grenzgänggeroute Teuto-Ems (Teuto-Ems Cross-Border Route) achieved four stars while the Vechtetalroute obtained three stars. The heathland region of Uelzen is also proudly listed as an ADFC RadReiseRegion.

In addition to a certified RadReiseRegion (cycle touring region), the ADFC (German Cycling Association) has awarded three quality cycling routes in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) three and four stars. For this, the cycle routes were reviewed and assessed by experts beforehand. Ultimately, we have everything a cyclist could ever need.
