Arrival and departure
If you plan to travel by train, we recommend alighting at one of the following stations: Bad Zwischenahn, Rastede, Apen-Augustfehn or Westerstede-Ocholt.
The specifics of the tour
Two alternative routes are signposted along the way:
- From Petersfeld (a district of Westerstede), the Ammerlandroute has a signposted alternative trail through the holiday region and recreational area of Conneforde. Its idyllic bathing lakes are perfect for a relaxing break from cycling. This detour rejoins the Ammerlandroute in Mollberg (a district of Wiefelstede).
- A detour to the university and residence city of Oldenburg is signposted from Rastede. This alternative route takes cyclists to the centre of Oldenburg’s Old Town. It then follows the long-distance cycle path along the Oldenburg-Bad Zwischenahn railway line to the moor health spa of Bad Zwischenahn.
