Buxtehude – The Hare and the Hedgehog

The hare and the hedgehog ran their legendary race in Buxtehude in Altes Land. The story about the cunning hedgehog, who always gets there first while the hare is still running, by local writer Wilhelm Schröder made the town near the Elbe river famous. Today, a sculpture serves as a reminder of the animal race and every two years there is a big story festival in the town.
