Celle has a wonderful Old Town with a large continuous pedestrian zone. All attractions, including Celle Castle, can be reached on foot. Those travelling by bus will find a central bus stop at the castle.

Celle is a popular base for visitors planning to explore Lüneburger Heide. It is also easy for visitors to Celle to explore attractions in other cities, for example Autostadt Wolfsburg. There is always plenty going on in the town, which boasts excellent transport links to Hamburg and Hanover.

Celle was the first town in northern Germany to be named a sustainable destination. And since January 2017, Celle has been the first town in northern Germany to be officially certified as a sustainable destination.
