The biggest marksmen festival in the world is Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony)’s answer to Cologne’s carnival. For over 485 years the city has been taken over by the marksmen every July, who drive many of their fellow marksmen from their beds at four in the morning with their racket and fanfares.
