The extensive forest landscapes on the East Frisian island of Spiekeroog have earned it the name of the “green island” in the North Sea. Spiekeroog is also home to the highest elevation in East Frisia, the “Wittdün” (white dune) at 24.1 metres. One very special attraction on this North Sea island is the “Museumpferdebahn” - Germany's only remaining horse-drawn tram.
