Hann. Münden

Three River City

At the point where the rivers Werra and Fulda join to form the river Weser, beautifully situated among hills and forests lies Hann. Münden. Over 700 half-timbered buildings dating back six centuries, fortified towers and remains of the old City Wall bear witness of the pride and wealth of the town's former citizens - a framework city of European rank.

Alexander von Humboldt, the well-known poet, is said to have called Hann. Münden "one of the seven most beautifully situated towns in the world". Hann. Münden has a long and interesting history based on trade, crafts and shipping industries.

Hann. Münden really is worth exploring - a combination of hospitality, culture and leisure-time activities awaits you to ensure an interesting and exciting stay - be it for a long holiday, a day trip or just a few hours. Many interesting cultural routes lead to Hann. Münden, such as the "Deutsche Märchenstraße" (Fairy-Tale Road) or the "Deutsche Fachwerkstraße" (Framework Road).

Enjoy a boat trip on the Weser or Fulda - from the water you will see the framework city out of a completely different point of view. The well-developed system of cycle paths leading through the picturesque countryside along the rivers Weser, Werra and Fulda attracts a growing number of cyclists every year. Hann. Münden offers cycling fun in every direction. Discover idyllic landscapes, charming framework cities, lots of cloisters, castles and the home of many famous legends and fairy tale figures.
