Verden

It is known for its cathedral and its horse breeding as well as for being a town on the Aller river.

There is something for visitors of all ages and for almost every recreational interest here. Active tourists can enjoy travelling along the banks of, or even on, the Aller river by foot, bike, horse or boat, for example on one of our many bike trails, horse-riding trips or nature walks.

Verden’s town history is portrayed in impressive exhibits in the Domherrenhaus historic museum. Horse lovers get their money's worth in the Deutsches Pferdemuseum (German Horse Museum). Thrill-seekers will feel at home in the Magic Park amusement park, climbing centre, Verwell water park and Domweih theme park.

Verden also has plenty to offer to music lovers: in addition to the summer concerts in the cathedral and jazz and blues performances, visitors can book tickets for various music and theatre events in the town hall.

Alternatively, tourists can stroll through the quaint and historic Old Town and soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the culinary offerings or experience the tranquillity of the cathedral.
