The Weser-Harz-Heide long-distance cycle route is the longest cycle route in Lower Saxony. It leads over 400 kilometers from Hann. Münden in the Weserbergland in the south of Lower Saxony to Lüneburg.
Course and sights
"Where the Werra and Fulda kiss..." is not only the source of the Weser. It is also the start of a fascinating long-distance cycle route. The Weser-Harz-Heide long-distance cycle route combines diverse cultural landscapes with impressive natural experiences. Much of the route runs along low-traffic roads and agricultural and forestry paths. Between the Weser and Göttingen and in the Harz Mountains, you can also expect sporty sections with some steep climbs and corresponding descents. From Goslar to Lüneburg via Gifhorn, the cycle path runs along a very well-developed route on largely flat terrain. The entire route is well connected to the rail network. Enjoy the flair of time-honoured university towns and medieval villages, let your thoughts wander amidst rural idylls, visit lambs, lynx and otters in their habitats or immerse yourself in a diverse cultural program - you rarely have so much variety.

Safety guidelines
The tour also runs partly on field and forest paths, so appropriate riding technique is required.
Bicyclists, horse riders, joggers and walkers like to use paths and areas that are primarily used for agricultural and forestry purposes. This often leads to misunderstandings between recreational users and farmers and foresters. Observing simple rules of conduct can facilitate relaxed coexistence in fields and meadows. Please show consideration for each other!
