Forest Botanical Garden

Headquarters of Naturpark Münden e. V.

Since 2015, the Naturpark Münden office has been located in the Forest Botanical Garden. To accommodate this, the former gardener’s house was renovated and expanded with a modern addition made of thermally modified beech wood. The addition provides additional space for meetings as well as for the district forester’s office.

Regionally sourced and processed materials, among others, were used in the construction and interior design. The beech wood used comes from the forests managed by the Lower Saxony Forest Service in Münden and was processed in the Göttingen workshops, a facility that promotes vocational inclusion for people with disabilities.

A Special Arboretum

The Hann. Münden Forest Botanical Garden is an arboretum—a collection of various tree and shrub species from different regions of the world. Thanks to its diverse collection, the garden is also of interest to experts in botany and dendrology.

A Destination for Dendrology and Botany

The Forest Botanical Garden is regularly visited by professional groups in the fields of botany and dendrology. In recent years, several professional meetings have been held in Hann. Münden, focusing on the garden’s unique and, in some cases, rare tree and shrub populations.
