The tenth stage starts in Emmerthal, leading 19.6 km to Rohrsen on the outskirts of the Pied Piper town Hameln. Blooming rapeseed fields and the autumn coloring of the forests characterize this stage. The XW route goes over the Hellberg ridge via Hagenohsen and Völkershausen to Hastenbeck. The world-famous crime thriller "The Sinister Monk" by Edgar Wallace was filmed here. Perhaps you will recognize the filming locations? The trail continues along the Schecken ridge over wide, open forest and meadow paths to the stage destination Rohrsen near Hameln. A city tour in Hameln with the "real" Pied Piper, who fascinates young and old alike time and again and brings the history of Hameln closer to visitors, is especially recommended.

Directions
In Emmerthal, nature shows itself at its best: fresh greenery in a hilly landscape, blooming rapeseed fields, the babbling of water, the autumn coloring of the forests, and the lush floral display in the nearby Ohrbergpark. All of this characterizes Emmerthal, the town on the gates of Hameln.
Truly "naturally," the Weserbergland Trail continues northward. Through the Hellberg ridge, it goes over Hagenohsen and Völkershausen to Hastenbeck. This small village is known for the Battle of Hastenbeck in 1757. Perhaps you already know Hastenbeck from television or cinema, as the crime thriller "The Sinister Monk" by Edgar Wallace was filmed here, at Hastenbeck Castle. At the edge of the Schecken ridge, the hiking trail leads you on forest and meadow paths to the stage destination Hameln.
The town of the Pied Piper scores especially with its historic old town, decorated with numerous restored half-timbered and Weser Renaissance buildings. In the winding streets, you can reflect on your hiking day in numerous cafés and restaurants. A city tour with the "real" Pied Piper is recommended, where you can discover the highlights of Hameln in a unique way through the eyes of the "darkest member of the German Fairy Tale Route." You can be sure: The Pied Piper of Hameln fascinates both young and old alike.
