Hain und Hügel

You reach the tranquil village of Garlstedt along meadows and small forests. In summer, you can take a detour to the Ohlenstedt spring lakes. The spring lake area is a popular vacation and recreation area, and the sandy beaches exude a Mediterranean flair. In the middle of the countryside, just outside the district town, lies the Ludwigslust zoo. Animals of 50 different species can be found here, including parrots, llamas and bears.

The 34 km long signposted cycle tour "Hain und Hügel" is part of the Green Ring.
