Directions
The tour starts in Wolfenbüttel at the castle, where the first information board is already waiting for you on the forecourt. Once you have left Wolfenbüttel behind you, you cycle along idyllic paths directly alongside the River Oker.
You soon reach Wittmar, where the Asse demands a lot from you in terms of fitness. You will be rewarded with a magnificent view of the region between Asse and Elm, the very area where Till Eulenspiegel once played his merry game. The route then takes you along unspoilt country lanes to Ampleben and continues along Till's baptismal path to his birthplace of Kneitlingen. You then ride up the Elm on the Küblinger Trift. Your destination here: the Watzumer Häuschen, from where you can admire the silhouette of the Harz Mountains on the horizon in good weather. along the Altenau you finally reach Schöppenstedt.
The first stage ends here, and there is plenty to see: The Eulenspiegel Museum, the churches of St. Marien in Küblingen and St. Stephanus in the town center are just as much a part of the sightseeing program as the many installations all about Till Eulenspiegel. After an overnight stay in Schöppenstedt, the second, shorter stage follows.
The tour takes you back to the Asse via Berklingen and Klein Vahlberg. You cycle the section from the previous day to Wittmar in the opposite direction and leave the mountain range in Groß Denkte. The way back to Wolfenbütel no longer involves any major effort.Equipment
Ein Fahrradhelm sowie ein verkehrstaugliches Fahrrad sollte bei der Tour zur Ausrüstung gehören.
