Tour overview
The town of Schöppenstedt with the Till Eulenspiegel Museum built especially for the prankster is the destination of this tour. Of course, Till's birthplace, his baptismal path, the baptismal church in Ampleben and many stops on the "Till Eulenspiegel cycle path" are also included in this tour
.Not to be forgotten is the landscape on the southern edge of the Elm, also known as the "Tuscany of the North". Here, the Lucklum manor, the moated castle in Veltheim, the castle park in Destedt and the windmills in Dettum and Ampleben are all worth a visit.

Tour description
The start and end point of this tour is at the monastery church in Riddagshausen. This tour is a circular route, so you can start and end the tour at any other point along the route described.
From the monastery church, the tour leads away from the main roads along country lanes and natural paths through the Riddagshausen nature reserve to Rautheim. The route continues through the Feldmark, along the Wabe river for a while and then along a winding path through the Rautheimer Holz until it reaches Salzdahlum shortly afterwards.
The route continues via Atzum and Ahlum to Dettum. On the way there, the Vilgensee lake along the route invites you to take a short breather. You will also pass the Bock windmill in Dettum (stamp point 35), which can be seen from afar.
Weferlingen and Bansleben are the next towns on this tour. Once you have crossed the railroad line, you should definitely take a detour to the Schöppenstedt ponds. The observation station here offers an impressive view of the ponds.Back on the actual route, you will reach the "town of pranks" on the southern edge of the town and take a direct route into the town center, where you can see the jester at the town hall. There are many installations on the market square, where you will find boards with stories from the life of Till Eulenspiegel.Past St. Stephen's, from whose church tower Till blows his trombone, the route leads to the Till Eulenspiegel Museum. During the tour, you will learn about the life of the jester in an amusing way.Schöppenstedt is then left in a northerly direction. In Kneitlingen, you will reach the birthplace of Eulenspiegel, where there are once again numerous installations with stories from his life next to his monument. The baptism trail then takes you to his baptismal font in Ampleben (stamp point 36).
Now it's time to conquer the Ampleber Berg to look out over the "Tuscany of the North" on the southern edge of the Elm. Above Evessen, you pass directly by the fruit-growing settlement. You should stop briefly at the Markmorgen adventure quarry, which is well worth seeing.
The route continues with many gems that will delight you. The centuries-old Rittergut Lucklum estate with its manor house, manor church, farm and residential buildings as well as a unique landscape park starts the tour. This is followed by the moated castle of Veltheim with the church of St. Remigius and the Destedt castle park. The roundelay ends with the Bock windmill in Abbenrode. The final stage of the circular route leads via Gardessen, Schandelah and Weddel back to the Riddagshausen nature reserve and thus back to the starting point of the tour at the monastery church in Riddagshausen.Equipment
