The Deutsche Fährstraße is often referred to as a "living museum" because on the way from Bremervörde to Kiel you experience engineering and inventive spirit from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. Whether a hand-operated barge ferry, fast car ferry, or the marvel of the suspension ferry, boredom will definitely not occur on this cycling trip.
In addition, the cycle route takes you into the natural paradise along the Oste, across the busy World Shipping Route Elbe, and along the bustling Kiel Canal.
