Naturpark Elm-Lappwald
The Elm-Lappwald Nature Park covers an area of 470 km² between Braunschweig, Wolfenbüttel and Helmstedt. It impresses with its unique combination of nature, geology and cultural history. The Elm, the largest contiguous beech forest area in northern Germany, and the Lappwald with its species-rich mixed forests characterize this region. Here, streams meander through small valleys, old quarries and orchards provide charming accents. His stories come to life in the Eulenspiegel Museum in Schöppenstedt. Robber Rose is a local celebrity from the Lapp Forest. He is known for his daring robberies and a life on the fringes of society, with a touch of romance and rebellion.
