Freibad Schöppenstedt

Opened in 1960, the Schöppenstedt outdoor pool has a 50 m swimming lane - where else in the district of Wolfenbüttel can you find that? - and a 5 m diving platform. The pool is divided into a swimmers' and a non-swimmers' area. There is also a separate children's pool. The pool water is heated up to 26° by a combined solar/gas heating system. Another highlight is the wonderfully large sunbathing lawn of 25,000 m² on a south-facing slope.

Further leisure activities include volleyball, basketball, chess and table tennis. There is also a children's playground on the grounds and a mini-golf course and the Eulenspiegelerlebnisland are located in the immediate vicinity. The DLRG Schöppenstedt local group also offers a wide range of swimming courses, including aqua jogging.
