Hiking on the Haverbeeke heathland loop

The small and clear Haverbeeke stream flows through the lower Heide valley. A largely barrier-free heathland loop runs along both sides of the flat valley. Whether with a walking frame or for a Sunday stroll, you can experience the full diversity of the heathland along the Haverbeeke

The Haverbeeke heath loop offers a wonderful opportunity for hiking. The hiking trail starts at the Menke inn and winds its way in large bends through the heath down to the Haverbeeke. Along the way, you can discover hidden burial mounds under the inconspicuous hilltops in the heath.

The Haverbeeke itself is a typical heath stream that flows through an exceptionally beautiful heath valley. Bright sand beneath the clear water and alders and pines lining the course create an idyllic atmosphere. On the last kilometer, the Haverbeeke flows into the Wümme.

Accessible hiking trail

The hiking trail is easy to walk on as it is covered with fine gravel. Walking frames and wheelchairs can also negotiate the path without any problems.

Lower down from the Haverbeckhof is the Haverbeeke pond, surrounded by trees. Here you can take a break on one of the benches. The hiking trail then leads through a small forest with old oaks and makes a wide loop to the starting point at Gasthaus Menke.
