VitalWeg for endurance, landscape and vision.
The VitalWeg 22 is the king tour among the VitalWeg trails - a 22-kilometre circular route that rewards you with endurance, magnificent landscapes and sweeping views.

Start either at the Parking lot indoor and outdoor pool Einbeck, Parkplatz Stadtwald/Hube or at Parking lot at the ponds and set off to experience all VitalWege trails in one big day tour.

The challenging route takes you through shady forest passages, open field paths and crisp climbs, which are rewarded with unforgettable panoramas. You will discover numerous highlights along the way: the old lime tree at the Riesswarte, the idyllic path along the Krummen Wasser, spectacular views of the Kuventhal valley bridge and the large Hub car park with insect hotel and information board.

The route continues along the Märchenwald, past the Köhlerhütte, Schwarzen Hütte, up to the Sonnenberg near Negenborn, through the Naturschutzgebiet Altendorfer Berg and to breathtaking views over Einbeck. The route also takes you through a picturesque avenue, past the Büchting memorial stone with refuge (located slightly to the left of the tour), past the green Borntal meadows, where you can observe native wildlife, and finally down through the Kirschenberg nature reserve back to the center of Einbeck.

Whether as a sporting challenge or a leisurely hike in stages - the VitalWeg 22 gives you a unique experience full of nature, vastness and unforgettable moments.

Take your time and experience the full diversity of the Hube on a single trail. 🌳🏞️✨

Directions & Parking facilities

Getting there

The VitalWeg 22 combines sections of all VitalWeg trails and can therefore be started from all three starting points.

By train:
Einbeck can be reached from Göttingen or Hanover via Einbeck-Salzderhelden station. From there, the train continues to the city center station Einbeck-Mitte. From Einbeck-Mitte, you can reach the three possible starting points of VitalWeg 22 on foot or by bus/taxi:

  1. Starting point: Indoor and outdoor pool parking lot:
From Einbeck-Mitte train station, it is approx. 20 minutes on foot. Walk along Ball-Ricco-Straße alongside Stukenbrokpark, continue along Teichenweg, then straight ahead along Hubeweg, left into Rabbethgestraße, right into Schützenstraße and finally left into Ochsenhofweg. The swimming pool is on the left-hand side, with the parking lot directly in front of it.

  2. Starting point: Stadtwald / Hube parking lot:
The parking lot is much further on foot from Einbeck-Mitte train station (approx. 30-40 minutes, uphill). Cross the Ostertor gate, cross the level crossing and follow the Hubeweg uphill. After about 2 km, you will reach the signposted hiking parking lot Stadtwald / Hube at the edge of the forest. Alternatively, we recommend taking a cab from the train station.

Starting point: "An den Teichen" parking lot:
This parking lot is located at the foot of the Hube directly by the ponds. It is about a 20-25 minute walk from Einbeck-Mitte train station. The path leads along Ball-Ricco-Straße past Stukenbrokpark, then up Teichenweg to the signposted lower parking lot "An den Teichen".

By car:
For visitors by car, all three starting points are suitable - depending on the desired start to the tour:

  1. Parking lot indoor and outdoor pool
Access via the signs "Am Schwimmbad / Ochsenhofweg". The parking lot is located directly in front of the indoor and outdoor pool.

  2. Parking lot Stadtwald / Hube
Access via Ostertor and Hubeweg, uphill towards the forest. The hiking parking lot is signposted and is located above the town on the edge of the forest.

  3. Parking lot An den Teichen
Also accessible via Ostertor and Hubeweg, signposted "An den Teichen". The parking lot is located directly at the small ponds and can be used free of charge.
