Road cycling tour - Small Teutoburg Forest loop

This road cycling route starts in Osnabrück and offers numerous elevation meters on a comparatively compact course. Immediately after leaving the city heading south, the first climbs of the Teutoburg Forest await.

In Bad Iburg, the view opens up to the castle towering over the town before continuing through the Teuto on quiet side roads. Steady climbs and short descents alternate, demanding stamina and riding technique.

A long descent leads down to Lengerich. There, the route initially runs flat along wide fields and meadows before the steep climb to Tecklenburg begins. A short break is worthwhile in the historic old town before the descent into the valley follows. The path finally leads back to Osnabrück through the gently rolling Tecklenburg countryside.
