Road bike tour - mountain tour with detour

This circular tour starts in Osnabrück and offers numerous elevation meters on a compact route. After leaving the city heading south, the first climbs of the Teutoburg Forest await.

In Bad Iburg, the view opens up to the castle towering above the town before the route continues through the Teuto on quiet side roads. Steady climbs and short descents alternate and demand stamina and riding skills.

A long descent brings the tour down to Lengerich. There, it initially runs flat along wide fields and meadows before the steep climb to Tecklenburg begins. A break is worthwhile in the historic old town before the descent into the valley follows. The path then leads back to Osnabrück over the gently rolling Tecklenburg land.
