Those who travel the Schwinge on a board or by canoe and kayak can explore Stade's waters on the wine-red marked History Trail, following in the footsteps of times gone by. Each of the 14 stations shows a historical image of the station from Stade's eventful history and provides background information from Stade's past as well as historical milestones in the town's history.

The History Trail leads from Stade Beach at the SUP Club on the Burggraben around the old town of Stade and from there into the idyllic Schwingetal valley.
Once you have left the city limits behind you, green expanses and gentle river bends await. A particular visual highlight is the Fred Watzlawik Bridge in bright white, which is typical of the region. The unique Paddle Trail History signs with exciting facts about Stade's history are attached at various points along the tour.

Directions & Parking facilities
Stade's paddling area offers the opportunity to enter the water at four points. Canoes, kayaks and SUP boards may only be launched there. The shoreline is the habitat of the animal inhabitants and may not be used for mooring.
The entry points at Stadeum and Holzhafen are best suited for access by car. There are plenty of public parking spaces available here.

Die Schwinge darf erst ab einer minimalen Wassertiefe von 130 cm/NN an der Mess-stelle mit dem SUP-Board oder dem Kanu/Kajak befahren werden. Dieser Wert ent-spricht ungefähr der erforderlichen Mindest-Wassertiefe von 40 cm an den niedrigsten Einstiegsstellen. Es ist daher wichtig, den Wasserstand vor Antritt der Paddeltour zu überprüfen. Befindet sich der Wasserstand im „grünen“ Bereich, steht dem Wassers-paß nichts mehr im Weg. Link Pegelstand
