The 654-hectare nature reserve "Großes und Weißes Moor" is one of the best-preserved raised bogs in Lower Saxony. NABU Rotenburg and the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) have created four nature trails here, one of which is the "Dör't Moor" northern trail. A delight for every nature lover!
The NORDPFAD Dör't Moor has been awarded the title "Quality Trail TRAUMTOUR" Wanderbares Deutschland by the German Hiking Association.

Directions
The "Große Moorrunde", as the NORDPFAD "Dör't Moor" is known in the NABU hiking trail system, starts at the parking lot of the Große Bullensee. The Große Bullensee is first circumnavigated for a short distance before it goes over wood chippings and boardwalks through a small moor zone. Along the way, lovingly designed information boards explain the special features of nature. Well-informed, you continue through the Great and White Moor Nature Reserve. After about one kilometer, the lookout tower offers a great view over the moor and meadow landscape. With a bit of luck, we may spot sparrowhawks, buzzards or cranes. We continue straight ahead and come across one or two high benches and small themed boards along the way. After another kilometer, we reach a themed pavilion, ideal for a short break. If you want, you can take the "De Bodderpad" variant to the right here and shorten the hiking trail.
For those who want to hike the entire NORDPFAD Dör't Moor, continue straight ahead. We gradually leave the moor behind us. Although we still have the moorland landscape with its birch trees and moor ditches on the right, the first larger agricultural areas now open up on the left. The landscape changes noticeably here. For a short distance, about 500 meters, we also walk on a barely used road before we follow the signposts to the right again on near-natural paths. Themed pavilions run by NABU Rotenburg offer a good place to rest and take in the peace and quiet. You can also find lots of information on exciting nature topics.
We continue our hike, pass a small area of heathland and reach the burial mound from the Neolithic period. Five of the eleven burial mounds have been preserved. Through a varied landscape of moor, field and forest sections and over short wooden footbridges, we reach the 250-year-old Sheepfold Spieker, with sheds, old agricultural equipment and a beautiful outdoor area. The sheepfold reflects the history of farming and peat extraction at the time. There is also a NORDPFADE "Tischlein-deck-Dich!" rest area at the Spieker sheepfold. You can order a delicious meal in the countryside here in advance. Two local restaurants supply the Tischlein-deck-Dich rest area with regional products. A break with your own picnic is of course also possible, provided the Wachtelhof and Waldhof farms are not serving their guests here. If you wish, you can also take a detour to the village of Unterstedt, 1.6 km away, where there are hiker-friendly accommodation and restaurants. a section on the parallel NORDPFAD Rotenburger Wasserreich, through a landscape characterized by meadows and pastures to the Kleinen Bullensee. This protected moorland lake impresses with its naturalness and unspoiled nature. The last stage takes us along a forest path and along a forest road to the DLRG station of the Large Bullensee. The green area under the shady trees, numerous benches and a playground invite you to linger and the bathing lake provides a welcome cooling off. If you want to swim, you should stay in the marked swimming area for your own safety. The lake is very deep in the middle and is only monitored by DLRG lifeguards in the summer months and at weekends.
Variant "Kleine Moorrunde"
The "Kleine Moorrunde" of the NABU hiking guide system with approx. 7.5 km, which leads over the Butterweg, is an ideal hiking alternative. "De Bodderpad" (Low German) was once the shortest connection between Kirchwalsede and Rotenburg (Wümme). Back then, many moorland farmers used this arduous route to sell their home-made butter in Rotenburg. This variant is also marked and signposted as "Variante NORDPFAD Dör't Moor", which also takes you over wooden footbridges and past another sheepfold, which can also be used as a shelter and rest area.
Link with other NORDPFADEN
The NORDPFAD runs parallel to the NORDPFAD Rotenburger Wasserreich. A 1.1 km long access path leads to starting point 2 of the NORDPFAD Federlohmühlen. In addition, a 3.6 km long access path leads via Unterstedt to the NORDPFAD Wümmeniederung.
Detour to Hartmannshof
From Kleiner Bullensee, it is just one kilometer to Hartmannshof, a farm for people with disabilities, who run a café and the MEGa Mitmach- und Erlebnisgarten of NABU.
