If one were to sum up the experiential qualities of the Ammerland route, the slogan "Cycling fun and blossom splendor!" would be fitting. This expression was not designed by clever marketing strategists but by the cycling guests who captured their most intense impressions of the landscape they passed through in these two words. On the Ammerland route, you experience the diverse landscape forms of the region in a very natural and close way. To the northwest, it goes through a unique fen landscape characterized by white drawbridges and elongated canals. To the east, the transition from the geest to the marsh landscape, the so-called geest edge drop with a gradient of almost 20 meters, is taken under the wheels. In the geographic center of the park landscape awaits the Zwischenahner Meer, the third-largest inland lake in Lower Saxony, also known as the "Pearl of the Ammerland." Numerous larger forest areas protect along the route from the sometimes strong North Sea winds from the northwest. Large moor areas invite discovery tours. Surprising and picturesque views open up everywhere, never allowing boredom to arise.
Typical for the area and especially charming is the Ammerland park landscape due to the special design shaped by the plantations of 180 tree nurseries. The many cultivated plants emphasize the charm of the enchanting nature and harmoniously round off the graceful impression of the surroundings. Thus, the Ammerland presents itself in spring in a bright green and extremely colorful; a riot of colors caused by thousands of blooming rhododendrons and azaleas that have found a new home here and are sold worldwide. But summer and autumn also promise intense color experiences that cannot be found anywhere else in this quality.
