Thick walls made of boulders and bricks, 17th century murals and a Romanesque vaulted cellar tell of the time when Zeven was one of the richest monasteries in the archbishopric of Bremen.
There is much to discover: the 500-year-old coin treasure from Heeslingen, an old pharmacy, the beautifully shaped and extravagant Zeven porcelain in the art deco style, artisan rarities from the Art Nouveau period, furniture, books and pictures.

The Gauss Room in the "House of Crafts". In 1824/25, the mathematician and astronomer Gauss lived in the former post office for about 6 weeks. The small exhibition in the Gable Room documents his land survey and his work in Zeven.
