Münchhausen-Museum Bodenwerder

The Münchhausen town of Bodenwerder in the Solling-Vogler region in the Weserbergland is a well-known excursion tip in the Weserbergland. The famous "Baron of Lies" von Münchhausen once lived here! Numerous memorabilia from the baron's personal possessions can be found in the Münchhausen Museum. The documents and pictures trace important stages of his life. There are also over 700 book editions in 30 languages and illustrations from two centuries about the incredible stories of the "Baron of Lies". The building is the "Schulenburg", built in 1300, which is part of the Münchhausen estate alongside Münchhausen's birthplace and the former distillery house. Younger guests can also let off steam in the playground at the museum.
