The St. Nicolai Market Church is Hameln's second oldest church and is located in the center of the Old Town. In the Middle Ages, a single-aisled hall building was transformed into a Romanesque basilica, which became a hall church through the continuation of the transepts. In the 18th century, the baroque interior was added. After its destruction in 1945, the church was consecrated again on St. Nicholas Day in 1959.

Inside the church, there is a magnificent mosaic window that brings the legendary figure of the Pied Piper to life. This colorful masterpiece, created in 1984 to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the famous legend, is also a piece of revived history. The church had previously housed a similar window in the Middle Ages, which fell victim to destruction in 1660.

On the southern wall of the church, there is the so-called Sevenling Stone.

A tower climb offers a wonderful view over the city.
