Im Erdgeschoß befinden sich die NaturWelten. Hinter dieser Bezeichnung verbirgt sich eine für Kinder und Erwachsene erlebnisreich aufbereitete Ausstellung, beginnend mit den MeeresWelten mit über 200 Tierarten. In den MenschenWelten präsentieren sich Archäologie und Völkerkunde und die Landesgalerie zeigt in den KunstWelten Bilder und Skulpturen vom Mittelalter bis zu den Impressionisten.
Neben den Dauerausstellungen zeigt das Museum regelmäßig Sonderausstellungen. Hinzu kommen ein reichhaltiges Veranstaltungsangebot für alle Altersstufen und ein spannendes museumspädagogisches Programm. Ein Café und ein gut sortierter Museumsshop runden das Angebot ab.

The house is closed on the following public holidays: Good Friday, Ascension Day,
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve.
On New Year's Day the museum is open from 1 - 6 pm.
On all other public holidays, the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (also applies to Easter Monday and Whit Monday).
