Charlottensee and Kneip adventure park: a day by the water in Bad Iburg

A vacation by the water in Bad Iburg looks exactly as you would imagine: relaxing in the beach bar or boating. But there's more, because below Iburg Castle lies not only Lake Charlottensee, but also the Kneipp Adventure Park. Its centerpiece is the fountain field, where water bubbles up in 50 places - a relaxing sight and an irresistible playground for children. They will also find a mud playground with water pumps and trampolines. And as it's not just children who like to play, a boules court has also been set up.

Lake Charlottensee has actually been around for a very long time: the Kolbach was dammed up here to operate the castle mill. Around 1900, however, the watermill ceased operations, the waters silted up - and the people of Iburg soon missed it sorely. The lake was therefore rebuilt at the beginning of the 1930s. Gradually, the parks around it were created, a boat rental opened on the lake and the Schloßmühle restaurant and café opened in the old mill - including a beach bar with a view of the lake.
