A special place for encounters and experiences

The estate at Burgsittensen has existed since the 17th century and was the seat of the von Schulte family. In 1664, the knighthood president Dietrich von Schulte built the first manor house here and moved in with his wife Christina Baroness von Erskin.

There are numerous paths for walking around the estate grounds and along the Oste river.

The last members of the von Schulte family died in the 19th century. In 1880, the entire property of the von Schulte family was auctioned off and acquired by the Klosterkammer in Hanover.

Today, the Wülpern family manages the estate. In addition to farming, numerous events such as markets, cowshed cinema and training courses take place on the estate. Information on the events can be found on the website www.klostergut-burgsittensen.de

You can also visit the grounds on a guided tour. For information on guided tours, please contact the Sittensen Tourist Information Centre on 04582 / 93001650.
