The Bible Garden in Werlte allows visitors to experience and relive the Holy Scriptures in a sensory way. Around a hundred plant species mentioned in the stories of the Bible grow on an area of around 1,000 square meters. Some were used as food in biblical times, others as spices, fragrances or remedies. And all of them together bring everyday life at that time closer, making biblical parables and stories more comprehensible.
In addition, the garden recreates four biblical landscapes: the Garden of Creation and the Promised Land, a field garden and the desert. In the desert, visitors can get active and lay and walk a labyrinth. They can rest in the arbour, which symbolizes the city of God, Jerusalem, and on the benches in the center of the garden.
Open daily from spring to autumn from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm.
