Naturpark Münden

The charming low mountain range landscape with the wild Kaufunger Wald forest and the fairytale-like Bramwald forest is characterized by the alternation of forest, meadows and fields. In addition to the diverse mixed forests, the landscape is enriched by impressive mountain views, babbling brooks and lovely meadow valleys. Humming, blossoming orchards bear witness to the sustainable cultivation of the land. From the Hoher Hagen on the Dransfeld plateau, almost 500 meters above sea level, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view as far as the Harz Mountains. Rare animal and plant species such as the wildcat, kingfisher, black stork and orchids feel at home here. Monasteries, fishing villages, rafting sites, charcoal kilns, glassworks and many small villages bear witness to the exciting and diverse cultural history of the Münden Nature Park. Hiking trails, cycle paths and boat trips on the Werra, Fulda and Weser offer unknown insights and new facets of the beautiful natural landscape.
