Weser Cycle Route alternative route, 4th stage: From Minden to Nienburg
You start your day trip from Minden and cycle past small lakes to Petershagen, the home of white storks. A small detour to visit Petershagen Castle is worthwhile here. The alternative route then leads north via Windheim, Heimsen, and after crossing the Weser past Schlüsselburg. The cycle path continues through numerous nature reserves until you reach the town of Stolzenau. The town is known for the twisted spire of St. Jacobi Church. Despite extensive construction activity, the medieval character can still be seen in the town center. The cycle path continues north near the Weser to Nienburg. The town is known for having the most beautiful weekly market in Europe, diverse museums, and impressive half-timbered and Weser Renaissance houses.
