This circular trail takes you to ancient sacred places and introduces you to regional legends. Get to know the Germanic worlds, gods and sacred rocks around the Ith!
Soon after the start of the circular trail, you enter the beech-dominated Ith. It has been protected as a "natural forest" for several decades. This means that it is allowed to develop into a primeval forest without trees being felled or removed. Here the path becomes steeper and steeper and you pass beautiful and impressive rocks such as Teufelsküche and Fahnenstein. At the top, you not only follow the Ithkamm ridge, but also a historical boundary with stones from the 16th and 18th centuries.
The trail then descends steeply, past the Adam & Eva rocks, and repeatedly past information boards that tell you the story behind these mystical places. Finally, you hike leisurely through the fields at the foot of the Ith, accompanied by species-rich hedges, to your starting point.
