The path De Schöne and dat Moor leads through old oak forests, a boardwalk over wet moorland, and along green meadows where hundreds of geese rest in winter. You also pass an old hand-cut peat pit. Those who look closely can discover sundew along the boardwalk and hear the calls of the golden oriole in the oak forest or see a black woodpecker glide through the trees.
A beautiful view over Halemer See is also offered from the bat tower.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author
Mosquitoes, horseflies, and other bloodsuckers feel very comfortable in the moor. Wearing long clothing also offers good protection in summer.
