On the circular route, you ride through the idyllic Weser landscape, past churches and monasteries with impressive architecture and much history. The route takes you from the train station in Rinteln through the historic old town. In the picturesque old town center, visitors will find a colorful mix of half-timbered and Weser Renaissance buildings, and the marketplace invites you to linger. The next highlight follows shortly after Rinteln: the former Benedictine monastery Möllenbeck is one of the best-preserved late medieval monastery complexes in Germany. In the adjoining domain, you can still experience the atmosphere of the monastery during a break.
Via Exten, you proceed along the Weser to Großenwieden. At the Gierseil ferry, you can enjoy a nice picnic break and admire the ferry in good weather. On the other side of the Weser, the path leads via Welsede and Hessisch Oldendorf with its impressive historic old town to Fischbeck with the famous eponymous ladies' foundation, which is still inhabited by canonesses today. Along the Weser, you return to Rinteln. Along the entire route, you will learn more details about the many churches along the way.
