- The circular route starts at the Scharnebeck tourist information office and leads to the lower visitor platform of the Lüneburg | Scharnebeck ship lift. From there you can look down on the two troughs of Germany's largest double hoist with a lifting height of 38 meters. The tour then continues to the upper viewing and visitor platform with a sweeping view over the Elbe Lateral Canal - with good visibility as far as the Elbe. The return route runs through the park of the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration to the information center. The route then leads back to the tourist information center.
