The fishing and weaving village on the southern shore of Lake Steinhuder Meer.
The state-recognised town Steinhude on the south-eastern shore has given its name to the large lake, and this is not the only reason why the people of Steinhude are proud of the traditions of their fishing and weaving village. In the village center of many half-timbered houses, fishing nets, fish traps, boats and peat barges tell of this history in a nostalgic way. The fishing and weaving museum and the unique historical box mangle for processing linen fabrics also vividly bear witness to the life and work of the people by the sea before tourism became the main source of income.
