Castle Oelber am weißen Wege was first mentioned in 1226. The additional designation "am weißen Wege" goes back to a historical lime removal plant, on whose transport road white lime tracks marked the way.
The round ground plan of the castle dates back to the 12th century, around 1580 the conversions were made that give the castle its present appearance.
Today you will find a medieval round building with a Renaissance façade. The Renaissance portal of the south-facing gatehouse is particularly impressive.
