Lake Salzgitter offers a wide range of leisure activities. Free WiFi is available around the lake under the name "freeWIFISalzgitter".

Lake Salzgitter is the water sports center of south-eastern Lower Saxony. At 75 hectares in size, it is considered an "El Dorado" for sailors, rowers, surfers, canoeists and divers; anglers and model boat enthusiasts also get their money's worth. Of course, you can also "just" sunbathe on the miles of sandy beaches. There is a large 5-mast water ski facility, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, an ice rink, tennis courts and barbecue areas, a disc golf course, beach volleyball courts and free leisure sports facilities with a Finn running track and pitches for soccer, roller field hockey, handball and basketball right next to Lake Salzgitter.
