From the production of pig iron in the blast furnace to the manufacture of semi-finished and finished products in the rolling mills, the process is explained during the tour. Individuals and small groups of up to 15 people have the opportunity to visit the steelworks via the Salzgitter Tourist Information Office. They will be put together into a large group of up to 30 people. Further information is available here.
Participants must be at least 16 years old and should be in at least average physical condition due to the long distances and stairs that have to be negotiated on the tour within the production halls. Unfortunately, this tour is not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

Von Norden her über die A39 bis Abfahrt Salzgitter-Thiede und dann die Eisenhüttenstraße entlang, bis rechterhand das Besucherzentrum auftaucht. Von Süden her über die A39 bis Abfahrt Salzgitter-Watenstedt und dann über die Industriestraße Mitte bis zur Kreuzung bei MAN. Hier links in die Eisenhüttenstraße einbiegen und weiterfahren bis linkerhand das Besucherzentrum auftaucht.
Parken
Ein kostenfreier Großparkplatz ist direkt am Besucherzentrum eingerichtet.
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
Die Bahnhaltestelle Salzgitter-Watenstedt ist ca. 20 Minuten zu Fuß vom Besucherzentrum entfernt. Es besteht ein Regionalbahnanschluss nach Braunschweig, dem nächstgelegenen ICE-Fernbahnhof.
