When the decision was made to build a new town hall in Salzgitter, there was still no commercial or administrative center in Lebenstedt. As a result, an urban planning competition first had to create the corresponding planning basis. Today, the administration tower forms a dominant structural feature that is visible from afar. This is also due to the use of the eye-catching blue clinker bricks on the corners of the building (some of which have been encased in blue panels), which make the town hall stand out visually. The original building complex consisted of the two-storey foyer with the council chamber, the ten-storey administration tower, the library and the health department. The last two were replaced by new buildings over time. The town hall complex itself has been preserved, but most of the window and façade elements have been replaced. The council chamber almost seems to float above the main entrance, with only a few slender columns supporting the white cube.

Über die A39 bis Salzgitter-Lebenstedt SÜD, über die Kattowitzer Straße ins Zentrum von Salzgitter-Lebenstedt. Am Krankenhaus vorbei, dann rechts in die Joachim-Campe-Straße. Am Ende hinterm Rathaus links in die Albert-Schweitzer-Straße. Gleich wieder links geht es in die Schillerstraße, wo ein kostenfreier Großparkplatz zur Verfügung steht.
Parken
Kostenfrei und unbegrenzt auf dem Großparkplatz Schillerstraße. Ansonsten kann tagsüber vor dem Rathaus mit Parkschein geparkt werden (30 Minuten kostenfrei über die grüne "Brötchen-"Taste).
Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel
Salzgitter-Lebenstedt ist mit einem eigenen Bahnhof an den Regionalbahnverkehr angeschlossen. Die nächstegelegene Bushaltestelle ist "Lebenstedt Rathaus". Verbindungssuche ÖPNV
