The building houses the exhibition on the nature park, a nature park information center and the nature park administration.
The Steinhuder Meer Nature Park House is located on the northern shore directly on the circular trail. It houses a permanent exhibition  "From peat extraction to climate protection - the changing function of moors" and the nature park information center. You can also register here for a guided tour of the moor and charge your e-bike.

Opening hours from April-October: Wednesday-Sunday 12:00 - 17:00
November - March closed.
Guided tours are also possible outside opening hours by prior arrangement.
Also available by telephone on Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

  • The “Lüttjen Mardorf” bus stop is 500 m away.
  • A general parking lot is available. (On-site or public parking within 100 m).
  • The entrance/access to the building is step-free (max. 2 cm threshold).  
  • All rooms and facilities used by guests and listed above are accessible without steps. 
  • Passageways and doors are at least 90 cm wide. 
  • The information desk is 78 cm high at its lowest point.  
  • Most exhibits can be seen, perceived, or recognized while seated. 
  • Most information about the exhibits can be read while seated.

Public restroom for people with disabilities

  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    in front of the sink, 150 cm x 150 cm;
    in front of the toilet, 150 cm x 150 cm;
    to the left of the toilet: 90 cm x 70 cm;
    to the right of the toilet: 90 cm x 70 cm.
  • Grab bars are provided to the left and right of the toilet.
  • Both grab bars can be folded up. 
  • The sink is wheelchair-accessible, with a height of 67 cm and a depth of at least 30 cm.
  • The mirror is visible while sitting or standing.
  • There is a button to trigger the alarm.

Das Naturparkhaus Steinhuder Meer befindet sich direkt am Rad- und Wanderweg um das Steinhuder Meer. Parkmöglichkeiten befinden sich am Holunderweg / Meerstraße ca. 500 m entfernt. Die Bushaltestelle ist ca. 800 m entfernt.

Telefonisch ist das Naturparkhaus von April bis Oktober zusätzlich montags und dienstags von 9 Uhr bis 13 Uhr erreichbar.
