Museum Vechta

History museum
In Vechta, part of the historic citadel has been restored. The Museum Vechta with its "Museum im Zeughaus" and "Castrum
Vechtense" is located in the citadel.
The Museum im Zeughaus in the former citadel of Vechta brings the past from the Bronze Age to modern times to life on three barrier-free floors with many historical exhibits.

The Museum im Zeughaus awaits you in the center of the former citadel of Vechta. On three barrier-free floors, the old building offers fascinating insights into different eras - from the Bronze Age to the Middle Ages and the Thirty Years' War to the recent past, when the building served as a prison. Numerous hands-on exhibits make the visit a unique experience.

The Castrum Vechtense, the ideal reconstruction of a medieval castle complex, is located in the middle of the Vechta Citadel Park. In the walk-in castle tower, you can discover many things that were part of everyday life in the 11th/12th century. Immerse yourself in the Middle Ages here alone or with your family.
