Formerly the residence of kings, today the Lower Saxony state parliament.
The palace was built in 1637, then extended and rebuilt several times. From 1837 to 1866, it was the residence of the kings of Hanover. Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz came and went here as librarian and court councillor. The palace has been home to the Lower Saxony state parliament since 1992.
